Our Story
Bruce Colvine Electrical Ltd is a trusted electrical firm based in the Scottish Borders, delivering comprehensive electrical services across residential, commercial, and industrial sectors. Founded in 2015, the company was established by Bruce Colvine after returning from a year working as an electrician in New Zealand. Inspired by the work ethos and balanced lifestyle he experienced abroad, Bruce brought this fresh perspective back home to create a company rooted in quality, dedication, and integrity.

Born and raised in Earlston, Bruce started the company with the values instilled in him by his parents: “If a job is worth doing, it’s worth doing right.” This commitment to excellence has been the foundation of the company’s growth. What started as a one-man operation has expanded into a team of three electricians, supported by additional subcontractors when needed. This ethos of quality and attention to detail has guided every project we undertake.
A Family Business
In 2018, Bruce’s brother David joined the firm through the adult trainee scheme, quickly excelling in his role. After earning his full electrical qualification in early 2022, David took the opportunity to work abroad in Australia, continuing the family tradition of learning and growth.
Expanding Our Team
In early 2020, we welcomed Robin Sharp to the company. Currently in his second year of training, Robin shows great promise and is on track to becoming a skilled and qualified electrician. Following David’s departure, we were also fortunate to bring Cameron Wood into the team in 2022. Cameron, who was awarded Scotland’s Apprentice of the Year, has been an invaluable addition to the team, consistently delivering top-notch work and contributing greatly to our growing reputation.
